Tiny house communities are popping up all over. Here in Oregon there are a few we love, which can incorporate independent spaces and community-minded living that is affordable. If you are parking your tiny house outside of Oregon, keep an eye out for communities in your area for affordable parking spaces and good neighbors.
Tiny Tranquility, Waldport, OR
This community has long-term rental options where you can park your tiny home, as well as tiny homes available to visitors as nightly rentals. Onsite you’ll find an entertainment center, laundry, a dog park, a greenhouse where you can grow your food, and an outdoor grilling area. It is situated along the Oregon coast with easy access to the coast and to trails.
Mt. Hood Tiny House Village, Mt. Hood, OR
This tiny house village overlooks Mt. Hood and has plenty of access to the outdoors and to good food. Though it is more geared toward vacation rentals, it is an amazing place to explore to understand how a tiny home can work for you. If you’re not yet sure you can live tiny, try a rental here for a week and see how it feels!
Simply Home Community, Portland, OR This community was developed by tiny-home enthusiasts. They have a main house around which each of their tiny houses are situated. They host nightly community dinners, share costs and garden space, and help each other with projects. They sometimes host tours of their community to inspire others to do the same.
